Rick Jacobs, President

The past thirty years I have been working in the field of medical billing, sales and practice management. I have known and worked with several of my co-workers for more than fifteen years and we have a very strong management team at ABC. People make the difference in this business and we have the best people in the business.

Outside Interests:
In addition to my career at ABC I enjoy spending time with my wife, our children and grandchildren. We also have lots of other family and friends nearby to fill our lives. I enjoy my weekly golf game, outdoor activities, motorcycling, reading and traveling.

What I like about ABC:
The friendly, professional and experienced staff at ABC makes this a great place to do business and a great place to work.

Gina Henderson, Director of Billing

My billing career started in 1985 with Rick Jacobs working for The Spring Group in Phoenix. I worked there in the billing department for six years. When Rick started his own company he asked me to join him and Linda Powell at ABC Medical. Even though it was a new company, and a big risk, I started to work for them in April of 1992 and that was the best decision I have ever made.

Outside Interests:
When I am not in the office I am with my husband Scott, son Cody and daughter Samantha. We love to go camping, boating and ATV riding on the weekends and the week nights we are busy with the kids sporting events.

What I like about ABC:
Great people make a great company.

Jennifer Torres, Director of Operations

The beginning of the rest of my career began in June of 1993 when I joined the staff at ABC having previously worked in the employee leasing business. I began working in the claims department and then promoted to the Credentialing Supervisor. From there I moved into the client services area so I have worn many hats here at ABC. My experience and growth have allowed me to interact with many people inside and outside of the office which I enjoy immensely. There is a great deal to know and understand about the practice management business and I find it all fascinating.

Outside Interests:
Outside of ABC, most of my spare time is spent raising my three beautiful daughters. I am blessed to be able to run back and forth from ball game to ball game and dance lessons to dance recitals with my girls. As a family, we love spending time barbequing, swimming or seeing an occasional movie.

What I like about ABC:
The management team and employees all take pride in everything that we do here at ABC Medical and that makes working for this great company all worth while.

Mike Piazza, Director of IT projects

I began working at ABC Medical January of 2000. Prior to coming on with ABC Medical I traveled the country extensively for 6 years installing and configuring practice management systems for physicians.

I enjoy my position of IT Manager because of the rapid changes in technology with computer systems which include software, hardware, networks, databases and maintenance.

Outside Interests:
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my family along with playing sports and participating in outdoor recreational activities.

What I like about ABC:
I enjoy working with the staff here where it is always a friendly and fun environment.

Scott Jacobs, Director of Sales and Support

I joined the ABC Medical Team in February 2008.  I have 10 years experience in emergency public service which has equipped me with a skill set that is useful.  I bring Leadership, decision making, organizational skills and have a true appreciation for teamwork and quality training.

Outside interests:
Away from work I enjoy wrangling my four children with my awesome wife, gardening, camping and golfing.

What I like about ABC:
I enjoy interfacing with our clients and meeting their needs.  The knowledgeable and dedicated staff at ABC makes meeting these goals enjoyable.

Maryann Kimmel, Billing Manager

I was hired by ABC Medical in November of 1996. Previously, I had worked for two anesthesia groups in Phoenix for a total of twenty-three years. My past experience in billing, scheduling, credentialing and management prepared me for my position at ABC.

Outside Interests:
When not here at ABC, I enjoy spending time with my daughter Andrea and grandson Bredan. I'm a true homebody who enjoys many home improvement projects and also my little dog Poncho. I'm really looking forward to the Phoenix Roadrunners minor league hockey season!

What I like about ABC:
I'm a people person and it's great working with all of our staff and our clients. ABC is family to me.

Kim Peterson, Billing Manager

I came to ABC Medical in September of 1998. I was hired as a Billing Aide and learned the business from the bottom up. After one year, I was promoted to the position of Billing Account Representative. I performed well in my new position and was eventually given the responsibility of Team Lead in charge of six Account Representatives. I now enjoy being the Analyst Supervisor for the entire claims department.

Outside Interests:
When not at the office I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons, Justin and Ben. Our boys love sports so we stay busy attending many wrestling and boxing tournaments. In my free time I really enjoy playing tennis, especially when I beat the men in my family.

What I like about ABC:
I enjoy coming to work every day and I enjoy my position with all of its challenges and rewards.

Brenda Wiegand, Credentialing Manager

My employment at ABC Medical began in August of 1995 when Rick Jacobs interviewed and hired me as the office receptionist. After six years of being the receptionist, Jennifer Torres offered me a position in the credentialing department as a Credentialing Assistant. In January of 2002 I became the Credentialing Team Lead and in March 2004 I took on the position of Credentialing Supervisor.

Outside Interests:
I have been married to the same man since 1968 and have three grown children and one grandchild. When I'm not at work, my favorite activity is reading; followed closely by shoe shopping.

What I like about ABC:
Throughout the years, ABC Medical has grown considerably; more personnel, more clients and more office space, but the management team remains "small company friendly" and shows it's appreciation in many ways.
